Vital 1.5kcal contains calories, protein, vitamins and minerals to help you gain or maintain weight. The protein in Vital 1.5kcal is partially broken down into smaller pieces (called peptides) so your body can digest it better. Vital 1.5kcal can help you get the nutrients you need when you experience symptoms like these.
Vital 1.5kcal is an oral nutritional supplement (sometimes known as a sip-feed) designed for patients who are experiencing symptoms of gastrointestinal (GI) intolerance and who might be at risk of losing weight.
It is a milkshake-style drink that comes in three delicious flavours: café latte, mixed berry and vanilla. It comes in a ready-to-drink bottle that can be used at home or on the go.
What is GI intolerance?
GI intolerance is where the digestive system cannot process some foods.1 Your digestive system is what breaks down foods into the nutrients you need to provide you with energy and keep you healthy.2 When this system struggles to breakdown the food you eat, it can make you feel quite unwell and can cause symptoms such as:1

Stomach pain
A feeling of needing to be sick or being sick
Wind

HOW DO I TAKE VITAL 1.5KCAL?
Your healthcare professional (e.g., GP or dietitian) will have recommended Vital 1.5kcal for you, and they will tell you how much and how often you need to take it, as this can vary from person to person. The amount your healthcare professional will ask you to take will usually depend on how much you are managing to eat and whether you need to maintain or gain weight.
This supplement is usually taken in addition to your meals. You can try taking it mid-morning, or in the evening. It’s best not to have it with your main meals so you don’t ruin your appetite.
Vital 1.5kcal may be recommended to you as a ready to hang 1000 ml tube feed if you cannot get all the nutrients you need by mouth.
HOW DO I STORE VITAL 1.5KCAL?
Store unopened at room temperature. Once opened, store in the fridge and consume within 24 hours.
